Introduction

The Coppa experience
Erald: Our Benelux Management team were faced with a new challenge. This involved selecting a new warehouse location due to the vast growth of our organisation. It was important it met our needs. The Wind Turbine market has grown considerably over the last few years. Therefore, providing a proper maintenance server is crucial for growth. Notably, by using the right people, with the right materials, at the right place and time with the lowest possible costs.  

Coppa Consultancy was asked to research into this challenge in order to find an optimal location for this warehouse. It was asked to keep 3 perpectives in mind: 1) low cost, 2) optimal logistics, and 3) a good location for current turbines but which could expand to include further parks in the next 3-5 years. In short, a total-cost approach with an eye on the future. 

Erald continues: Coppa gave an excellent qualitatve as well as quantitative reasoning for the choices which we had to make in the given time limit. Our whole organisation feels positve as a consequent of the outcome.

Who would you advise to work with Coppa?
Pim Van Pomp says: Organisations who want to learn about themselves via new methods and means. The project was a very educational process for us too. The results were conclusive and dependable. Our view of Coppa was most positive. The advisers involved with the project maintained good communication during the research. What was of prime importance for us, was meeting the time frame in which we had to find a new location, and evidently we succeeded.

In Conclusion
Pim continues: Shortly after receiving the advice given by Coppa , as a company Vestas used this advice to find our location. We have also used several smaller satellite locations to further optimise the maintenance services that we provide to our clients. If I were to describe the end results in two words they would be : Spot on!
